There's no better time to visit the Victorian High Country than in autumn when the trees transform into a wonderful mix of red, yellow and green colours.
We ventured north-east from Melbourne with our sights set on Myrtleford Golf Club, Mount Beauty Golf Club and, the standout course in the region, Bright Country Golf Club.
Myrtleford's local golf course is set beneath small mountains and features impressive couch fairways while many of the smooth greens are slightly elevated to help create friendly year-round playing conditions.
After Myrtleford, we headed to Bright the following morning, taking advantage of stunning conditions to capture some glorious aerial footage of the layout. Another remarkable feature at Bright is the massive California redwood tree beside the small clubhouse which stands close to 50 metres in height.
If you've been skiing a few times at Falls Creek, you will probably be familiar with the small town of Mount Beauty just before you make the steep climb up mountains to the ski resort.
Mount Beauty Golf Club is quite a hilly layout which helps to create awesome views across the Kiewa Valley.
You'll have to contend with surprisingly firm greens, some uneven lies in fairways which add to the challenge and you might even spot some kangaroos resting beside some of the greens.
