This aerial photograph captures the closing hole at Leongatha Golf Club, a par-five that offers both opportunity and risk in equal measure. While the tee shot plays straight, the hole's defining feature is a sharp dogleg to the right only about 80 metres from the green.
For longer hitters, the temptation is to challenge the tall trees that guard the inside corner, opening up a direct route to the green. For others, the safer option is to play left before pitching onto the putting surface.
Surrounded by native bushland and bathed in warm afternoon light, the image highlights the natural beauty and thoughtful architecture that have made Leongatha one of Gippsland's finest courses.
