In this video, we rank the top 5 public nine-hole golf courses in Victoria, Australia.
5. Spring Park Golf Course - Dingley Village, Melbourne
Kicking off our list at No. 5 we head to the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne at Spring Park Golf Course. The sandbelt vibes are strong at Spring Park which is well bunkered in places and characterised by small greens. The course features a par-five, four par-fours and four par-threes. Nine holes here will set you back $30 ($29.90) on the weekend and even less midweek.

4. Peterborough Golf Club - Peterborough, Victoria
For No. 4, we move to the Great Ocean Road in Western Victoria for the very low-key yet stunning Peterborough Golf Club. Set beside the cliffs of the Southern Ocean, Peterborough is pure, classic links golf. It's beginner-friendly but plenty of fun for all golfers. There isn't a single standout hole but rather a handful which offer memorable views. Remember to pay your green fee at the honesty box before you tee off. The green fee for nine holes at Peterborough is $20.

3. Metung Country Club - Metung, Victoria
At No. 3, we venture to Metung Country Club in East Gippsland. It's a four-hour drive from Melbourne's CBD but a trip to Metung is worth the trek with plenty of other activities on offer around the Gippsland Lakes. Formerly known as Kings Cove Country Club, Metung has plenty of space and isn't hemmed in like many other public courses. The course conditioning also gets a bit tick. Nine holes at Metung will cost you $35.

2. Cheltenham Golf Club - Cheltenham, Melbourne
At No.2, we head back to the Melbourne sandbelt at Cheltenham Golf Club. Situated right next door to the famed Victoria Golf Club, Cheltenham - or 'Chelt' as the locals know it - offers a very relaxed setting and a golf course that presents like a mini-sandbelt layout. Course conditioning is another strength and one of the standout holes is the par-3 4th along the boundary of the property. Nine holes at Chelt is $38 midweek or $43 on weekends.

1. The Dunes Golf Links (Cups Course) - Rye, Victoria
And our No. 1 public nine-hole golf course in Victoria is the Cups Course at The Dunes Golf Links on the Mornington Peninsula. With a par of 33, The Cups Course has plenty of elevation changes and most of the holes give you a choice on the tee of whether to play safely away from danger or be aggressive. The course is well bunkered and its conditioning is just as good as what you get on The Dunes' main 18-hole course. Nine hole on the Cups Course will set you back $45.
