Bondi Golf & Diggers Club is what we call 'golf for everyone' - a no-fuss public nine-hole course set on cliffs near Sydney's world-famous Bondi Beach. As for the dress code... there kind of isn't one.
As you step onto the course, you’re immediately greeted by the serene beauty of the surrounding landscape and, when you reach the tee on the par-four fifth hole - the only hole that isn't a par-three - the sparkling Pacific Ocean is literally right beside you.
As a par-28, it's the kind of course where non-beginners can take a handful of clubs and balls and leave their golf bags in the car.
Golf course architecture afficionados might say there is nothing particularly special about Bondi but this writer thinks its stunning location and relatively low maintenance design make it one of the most memorable nine-hole courses in Australia.
Another standout aspect of Bondi is how close it is to Bondi Beach. After a round of golf, if you don't head for a meal or a drink in the uber casual clubhouse, you can easily venture to the beach.
